The Ruckus R350 is an indoor, dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) access point designed for smaller enterprise, branch office, retail, hospitality, or hotspot environments.
It aims to bring many of the advanced capabilities and performance optimizations of higher-end Ruckus APs into a compact, cost-effective form factor.
Some of its design goals include:
Supporting more users and higher throughput in Wi-Fi 6 environments
Better coverage and interference mitigation via Ruckus’s patented antenna and signal-optimization technologies (e.g. BeamFlex, ChannelFly)
Being IoT-ready (via optional USB module support for BLE/Zigbee) Flexible deployment and management (ceiling, wall, desktop mountable; support for cloud, controller, or controller-less operation)
Here are the prominent features of the Ruckus R350:
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| Wi-Fi Standard | Dual-band 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) with backward compatibility to a/b/g/n/ac |
| Radio Streams / MIMO | 2×2:2 in both bands (i.e. two spatial streams) |
| Maximum PHY Rate | Up to ~1,200 Mb/s in 5 GHz + ~574 Mb/s (2.4 GHz) = combined ~1,774 Mb/s (i.e. 1.77 Gbps) |
| Client Capacity | Supports up to 256 concurrent clients |
| SSIDs | Up to 16 SSIDs per AP |
| Antenna & Patterns | Internal antennas, with BeamFlex adaptive antenna patterns, ~64 antenna pattern options per band, gain up to ~3 dBi |
| Channel Optimization / Interference Mitigation | Includes Ruckus ChannelFly (dynamic channel selection) and interference avoidance / noise mitigation techniques |
| IoT / USB Module Support | Has a USB port to support optional modules for BLE / Zigbee (for converged IoT + Wi-Fi) |
| Mesh / Self-Healing | Supports SmartMesh™ networking for self-forming / self-healing mesh networks (to reduce wiring) |
| Management Options | Supports Ruckus controller-based (appliance or virtual), controller-less (Unleashed mode), and cloud management (Ruckus Cloud) |
| Mounting / Form Factor | Designed for ceiling, wall, or desktop installation; compact and low-profile |
| Power / PoE | Supports IEEE 802.3af PoE (Power over Ethernet) |
| Environmental / Certifications | Plenum rated (UL 2043), supports various safety / EMC / RF exposure certifications |
